Accessibility Statement

Effective Date: October 21, 2026

Our Commitment

HNS First Aid AND CPR is committed to providing respectful and accessible service to people with disabilities and to identifying, preventing and removing accessibility barriers where reasonably possible.

We aim to provide our services in a manner that respects dignity, independence, integration and equal opportunity.

Accessibility Accommodations

Participants are encouraged to contact HNS before their scheduled training if they require an accessibility accommodation, accessible format or communication support.

HNS will consider reasonable accessibility accommodations based on:

  • the individual's needs;
  • available facilities;
  • health and safety considerations;
  • the nature of the requested accommodation; and
  • the requirements of the applicable training course.

We will work with the individual where appropriate to determine a suitable approach.

Not every accommodation may be possible where it would conflict with essential course, safety, assessment or certification requirements.

Communication

We will make reasonable efforts to communicate with people with disabilities in ways that take their accessibility needs into account.

If you need information in an accessible format or require communication support, please contact us.

Assistive Devices and Support

Where appropriate and consistent with applicable safety and course requirements, participants may use personal assistive devices.

Participants who may require a support person, service animal or other accessibility-related assistance are encouraged to contact HNS before attending so that arrangements can be discussed.

Training Courses

First Aid, CPR, AED and Basic Life Support courses can include practical physical activities and assessments.

If you have an accessibility need that may affect participation in practical training, please contact HNS before your course.

We will discuss reasonable options with you while maintaining applicable training, safety and certification requirements.

Website Accessibility

HNS aims to make its website usable and accessible to a broad range of visitors.

We consider accessibility when working on areas such as:

  • website navigation;
  • headings and content structure;
  • readable text;
  • colour contrast;
  • keyboard operation;
  • forms and links;
  • alternative text for meaningful images; and
  • responsive layouts.

We do not claim that every part of our website or every third-party service is fully accessible in every circumstance.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our website, please let us know.

Third-Party Platforms

Some website functions may rely on third-party services such as booking, payment, communication, mapping or other external platforms.

HNS does not control every aspect of the accessibility of third-party platforms.

If a third-party service creates difficulty for you when trying to access an HNS service, contact us and we will consider reasonable alternative assistance where possible.

We welcome feedback about accessibility barriers involving our website, communications or services.
